With the loonie currently hovering about 5 cents above a toilet, the prospect of travelling to the US is all but dead for most of us.

Fortunately, there are many destinations south of the border that are offering to accept Canadian currency at par with the US dollar. Which means not all hope is lost. But before we reveal them to you, just keep in mind that, for the most part, currency can only be accepted at par when paying with cash. So the key for most of these deals is to buy as little as possible on your credit card before you leave, and maximize your purchases in person. Most of these offers will also become void if booked through a third-party website, so use the direct links provided below.

Sea World

Sea World in Orlando is currently offering at-par pricing on its general admission tickets. These tickets must be purchased in advance, and the deal expires on April 30th.

Busch Gardens

Over in nearby Tampa Bay, Florida, Busch Gardens is also offering at-par pricing for general admission. Just like with Sea World though, these tickets must be purchased in advance and the deal expires on April 30. Gena Lee Nolin certainly looks like she’s having fun!

Alexander Florida Holiday Homes

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay while you’re in Florida, you can check out Alexander Florida Holiday Homes, which is offering a discount of up to 30 per cent to Canadian residents (30 per cent is arguably better than at-par pricing). Travel must take place between May 1 and June 17 or August 28 and September 30.

Myrtle Beach

Probably the most widely-publicized at-par deal south of the border, sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, doesn’t disappoint. Until April 30th, 43 different hotels and businesses in the area will be offering at-par pricing. You can see the entire list right here.

Plus, San Jose’s adults-only (and by adult, we mean adultHotel Desire is offering a deal we didn’t want you to miss: They’ll treat your money as though it’s USD if you stay at for seven consecutive nights. There is no expiry date posted for this deal, but it can be withdrawn at any time, so those in the mood for a little Latin lovin’ had better act fast!

Several hotels in Buffalo are offering at-par pricing until April 30. Staybridge Suites Buffalo South, the Hampton Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Days Hotel Buffalo Airport and Staybridge Suites Amherst. You can book with them in advance and then pay in cash once you arrive in person.

Jay Peak

Jay Peak Resort in Vermont is accepting Canadian currency at par for various passes, rentals, lift tickets and more. But there are some exceptions to the rule, so make sure you take a look at the list they provide right here, to see what’s covered under the deal. The offer can be terminated at any time.
