If you need a little good news right now then Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are here to give it to you: they’re expecting their fifth child. Hilaria made the adorable announcement on Instagram on April 6, nearly five months after the couple suffered through a heartbreaking miscarriage. For those keeping count, that was the second miscarriage in a seven-month span, so that makes news of this pregnancy even more joyful.“Sound up … I’ll let the baby do the talking because I don’t have the words to express how this sound makes us feel,” Hilaria shared alongside a video to her followers. With the sound indeed up, fans can hear the baby’s heartbeat. “Just got the great news that all is well and all is healthy with this little munchkin. I wanted to share this with you. Here we go again.”
This baby will be the fifth for the couple, but the sixth overall counting Alec’s daughter Ireland, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger. Carmen is six, Rafael is four, Leonardo is three, and Romeo is coming up on his second birthday. Sounds like it’s going to be a full house indeed, and that’s just the way the Baldwins want it.Last November, Hilaria shared the news of her most recent miscarriage with her followers, writing, “We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not ok right now, we will be. We are so lucky with our 4 healthy babies—and we will never lose sight of this.”  Her eldest Carmen was excited to have a baby sister, Hilaria wrote at the time.“I told Carmen and took this so I could send it to Alec,” she continued in reference to the accompanying video. “I guess this is a good way to share it with you too. I told her that this baby isn’t going to come after all...but we will try very hard to give her a little sister another time. I’m really devastated right now...I was not expecting this when I went to my scan today. I don’t know what else to say...I’m still in shock and don’t have this all quite clear.”Since that video Hilaria has opened up about how therapy has helped her to process the losses and allowed her to change her mentality to accept that she too deserves happiness. “I had to tell myself that I deserved to heal and to be happy again. This lesson became my mantra,” she wrote in a guest column for Glamour earlier this year. “Processing and going through grieving was important, but I didn’t have to be condemned to a life of emotional punishment and suffering.”The Mom Brain podcast host and yoga instructor is currently hunkered down with her large (and growing) family during social distancing, and has been sharing adorable photos of her brood playing and fighting over who gets to sit in mommy’s lap. (It’s a good thing they got that family trip in to Disneyland back in February.) Meanwhile Hilaria has also posted videos of Alec cooking and doing dishes on her Instagram stories, joking about maybe having a baby with him (“oh wait…”). She’s also been binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy, which according to her unofficial Instagram poll means the baby will either be a doctor or an actor.Whatever that babe ends up being, one thing is for sure: it’s already super loved.[video_embed id='1934696']RELATED: How to keep your kids reading during the COVID-19 pandemic[/video_embed]
