When ABC announced  Disnitsey Family Singalong special to help raise money for Feeding America, the lineup was already a heavily-stacked affair. Past and present Disney and music stars like Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban, Demi Lovato, Michael Bublé and more came together for the Ryan Seacrest-hosted special. But Disney kept one of the biggest surprises for the actual airing,  delighting viewers with an appearance from Beyoncé and her performance of “When You Wish Upon A Star.”In true Beyoncé fashion, she kept her appearance top-secret, surprising viewers with a soothing rendition of the classic Pinocchio tune. Delivering a performance that felt like a warm blanket and a reassuring pat on the head, Beyoncé’s brief cameo included a heartfelt dedication. “Hello to all of the families across the world. I'm very proud and honored to be a part of the Disney family and to help present the Disney Family Singalong in partnership with Feeding America," she said during the broadcast. "I'd like to dedicate this song to all the healthcare workers who have been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. We greatly appreciate you."[video_embed id='1918781']RELATED: Blue Ivy met Lebron James and it was adorable[/video_embed]The Grammy winner continued, adding "Please hold onto your families tight. Please be safe, don't give up hope. We're going to get through this, I promise. God bless you." If Beyoncé says we’re going to be okay, at least for a moment we can actually feel like we’re going to be okay. The camera remained close on Beyoncé’s (flawless) face throughout the delicate and beautiful performance, which for many was the highlight of the star-studded night. Beyoncé’s appearance on the Disney special found a big fan in Kim Kardashian, whose husband Kanye West enjoyed a close friendship with Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z before a very public falling out. The couples appear to be on good terms now, or that’s just the power of Beyoncé. TV and Broadway star Darren Criss revealed after Thursday night’s show that he had originally asked to perform “When You Wish Upon A Star,” but was politely shut down by Disney. Maybe the song really is difficult to get cleared or maybe Beyoncé. That’s it. That’s the explanation. Beyoncé’s relationship with Disney began with her work on 2019’s The Lion King. Beyoncé voiced the character Nala and released the original single “Spirit,” which received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song and she also executive produced and curated The Lion King: The Gift.In an interview with Buzzfeed, ABC Entertainment’s senior vice president Rob Mills said that the Beyoncé’s addition to the already-rushed Disney Sing-Along was surpremely last minute. Revealing the video of her performance arrived "in the nick of time," Mills added “she sent something in and it was absolutely beautiful. Beyoncé singing ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ was in the total spirit of not only what the special is about, but what the country is about right now, and it was something only she could do.”[video_embed id='1940629']RELATED: Britney dances to Justin 20 years after break-up[/video_embed]
