It was a busy weekend in Canada—from the hoopla of the Toronto International Film Festival on the east coast, to the Canadian Country Music Association Awards on the west, there was plenty of glitz, glamour and gushing. It was also the perfect intersection of events for one of our favourite loved-up duos to feel the Canadian love from all corners of this great nation.Nicole Kidman, who was busy premiering her new movie The Goldfinch at TIFF, received a very warm reception from fans, co-stars and our own hosts alike. In fact, in a heartwarming sit-down with etalk this weekend, Danielle Graham and Nicole's co-star Ansel Elgort sang her praises, much to Kidmnan's protestation. Elgort even admitted that when he first met Nicole, his first reaction was "Is this my life?... You're Nicole Kidman." Could co-star love get any cuter? But that wasn’t the only reason to celebrate—nearly simultaneously, hubby Keith Urban was being awarded Album of the Year at the CCMAs over in Calgary for his 2018 LP Grafitti U. And adorably, both took to their Insta-stories to express thanks to the Mapleland:[caption id="attachment_4464073" align="alignleft" width="960"] @nicolekidman/@keithurban/Instagram[/caption] Nicole proclaimed her gratitude for Canadians' kindness to her at TIFF and for the love they gave "my husband" (d'aww!) at the CCMAs. Keith meanwhile, shared similar sentiments in a parallel post, writing even more emphatically, "BIG LOVE to EVERYONE up in Canada today" and saying he can't wait to come back and tour again. We'll have you any time, Keith! It’s great to see both mega-celebs give big props to Canada after enjoying such a hugely successful weekend. And after their commitment to the Great White North, surely these two deserve honorary citizenship? We definitely can’t wait to welcome them back. And until then, we’ll just have to leave a special seat at the table for them come next Canada Day… eh?
