We can all agree that trying to get over someone who broke your heart can be difficult. So how do you bounce back from heartbreak? You can always grab a spoon and go for a pint of Ben & Jerry’s-we won’t judge. But you can also have a sleepover with your best girlfriends and realize you deserve better. That’s exactly what Dua Lipa did, and it seems to be paying off for her quite well.

The British singer just released the music video for her latest single, New Rules on Friday night, and people just can’t get enough of it. Directed by Henry Schofield, the video features Lipa and a group of women (who are actually friends) helping each other to get over the guys that broke their hearts. As it begins, you see Lipa struggling through heartbreak, but looking to her friends for some tough love. By the end of the video, things have come full circle, and she’s helping one of her best friends through the same thing.

Every detail in this video serves to complement the message that Lipa was trying to send. It was an inspired idea to set the scene at what looks like a pretty good slumber party– a storyline we know all too well. She used that stereotype and flipped it on its head. The video also does a wonderful job of including a diverse group of women, emphasizing the importance of representation in the media. But the most compelling element of this video is the friendship and unity that exists between Dua and her friends. The entire music video is based around the idea of women supporting women, and building each other up to be stronger.

There’s just a whole lot of love here.

The response to New Rules has been incredible. In just three days, the video has racked up over six million views on YouTube. And women from all over have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts.

She’s also been getting some praise from her biggest celebrity fans!

And hey, even some guys are noticing just how cool this video is.

This music video definitely deserves all of the positive attention it’s been getting. It showcases self-love, diversity, and it reinforces the idea (fact!) that relationships will come and go, but girlfriends are forever. And if this is any indication of what Lipa’s future videos are going to look like, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.

Good on you, Dua.
