Following the couple’s surprise announcement that they plan on living separately from the royal family, their final day as full-time working members of the royal family has been announced. Time for Harry and Meghan to update their LinkedIn profiles.A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed on Wednesday that Harry and Meghan’s final day as official representatives of the Queen will arrive on March 31, which is when the fiscal year ends for the royal family. This will mark the beginning of the couple’s new life and financial independence from the monarchy. Plus, Meghan can stop wearing nude nail polish and start taking selfies again.The couple, who are currently living in Vancouver with their son Archie, will return to the UK later this month in order to fulfill previously scheduled obligations. Harry and Meghan will be back and forth between North America and the UK until their official service ends on March 31. Before then, the pair have six royal engagements to attend, including the Commonwealth Day Service on March 9. This will likely be the couple’s final appearance as working members of the royal family. The event is a major one among the members of the monarchy and will likely include an attendance from Harry’s father and stepmother, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as his brother Prince William and sister-in-law, Kate. Starting April 1, Harry and Meghan will be represented by their UK foundation team. Harry and Meghan are continuing conversations with their team and according to The Guardian are in meetings “as part of their ongoing work to establish a new non-profit organisation. The details of this new organisation will be shared later in the year.”Harry and Meghan’s life post-royal family enables the couple to explore opportunities outside the monarchy, including a possible return to acting for Markle. The pair have expressed their commitment to continue representing the Queen, but their efforts to trademark the term Sussex Royal may be shot down by the royal family. Harry and Meghan reportedly filed a trademark for Sussex Royal, but sources close to the royal family advise that the couple may be banned from using the word ‘royal.’Harry and Meghan will continue to use their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Harry and Archie’s position in line to the throne will remain unchanged. However, after March 31, the couple will no longer be allowed to use their titles as His or Her Royal Highness.
