Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Live series Red Table Talk has never been a space where guests shy away from controversy (remember Jordyn Woods’ appearance in which the model confronted allegations that she’d been seen hooking up with Khloé Kardashian’s ex, Tristan Thompson?). This past weekend, Pinkett Smith brought her own relationship to the table, sitting down across from husband Will Smith for some seriously real and refreshing talk about their marriage, perceived infidelities, amicable and temporary separations, and musician August Alsina. Not only did the session smash Red Table Talk’s previous record (the Woods episode received 7.6 million views in 24 hours); it set a new record for all of Facebook Live. More than 15 million people tuned in to catch Jada’s ultra-personal chat with husband Will and it’s little surprise. The couple’s willingness to have a candid conversation about their imperfect union is pretty rare in the celebrity world and gave the world a new euphemism for a romantic relationship: entanglement.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: ‘Angel Has Fallen’ star Jada Pinkett Smith shares her best parenting advice[/video_embed]Because of the more pressing social and racial justice issues currently dominating the news cycle, Pinkett Smith had held off on releasing the episode in which the couple addressed the rumours swirling around their relationship and acknowledged the third person who, for a time, was alleged to have come between them. Then she changed her mind.
Instead of continuing to put it off, Jada decided to drop the episode on July 10, in the wake of a YouTube interview Alsina had on June 30 with radio host Angela Yee. During the chat, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter talked about his love for Pinkett Smith, whom he met through the Smiths’ son, Jaden. The singer said that he “totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody."But like Ross and Rachel before them, the Smiths want to make one thing clear: when Jada had her brief “entanglement” with Alsina, she and Will were on a break. "Four and a half years ago… I started a friendship with August and we actually became really, really good friends," said Pinkett Smith during the episode of her Emmy-winning show. "And it all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state… You and I were going through a very difficult time,” she added, explaining that she and Smith had mutually “decided that we were going to separate for a period of time.”"I was done with your ass, but marriages have that, though," quipped Will. "We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out a way to make yourself happy and I'll figure out how to make myself happy."

God said, We may grow weary and tired fighting in the fire, but we shall NOT be burned! The journey to freedom is a deeply complex, tricky, and turbulent road to tow; yet very necessary. Oppression comes in so many forms these days, beginning w/ physical slavery and bondage to the white man, then passed down generational programming that manifest into mental enslavement. Slaves to an idea, slaves to an image, slaves to a code of conduct, slaves to a picture you’ve created in your mind.. even if it contains many falsities.. & anything that differentiates from your “idea” & “image” feels like an attack. & I get it; not only do i get it but I’m also sorry you feel that way, BUT, The only attack here is against the invisible walls of silent societal construct and “code” we place upon each other & upon ourselves hidden behind the desires of others approval & acceptance; another form of slavery & bondage that blocks one’s truest self from showing & spirit flow. Be blocked and stuck for what? Live silent, pressed down crippled in fear for who ? Adversary is but a gift given to you to flourish. We are surround by so much disharmony in this external world, so it is my forever job to do whatever’s necessary to reach the gift of harmony within myself. Truth & Transparency makes us uncomfortable, yes, but i can’t apologize for that. A tower of truth can never fall, only a tower of lies can do that. My truth is MY truth, & its mine to own. There is no right or wrong here, it simply just IS. & I make room and have acceptance for your thoughts and opinions, regardless if I agree or not, you have that freedom to feel WHATEVER it is u feel because when you’re at TRUE peace, all of the noise and chatter becomes that of a whisper. My heart has no malice or hate toward anyone on this planet. I just simply want the chains off & I’m willing to DIE getting there. The gift of freedom is yours to have, God promises us that, but only if you’re willing. &God is not a man that HE should lie.. & I’m His SON, so neither would I. ?? W/ that being said i should also say that, no one was side swiped by any conversation, everyone got courtesy calls time in advance. Wishing Everyone Big Love!

Pinkett Smith did clarify reports that Will had given her permission to have a relationship with Alsina saying, "The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself. I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he's also not a homewrecker. Which he's not."|She said the relationship ended, she and Smith reconciled and they are now at a place of "unconditional love."Pinkett Smiths said that once her and Will got back together, Alsina decided that it was best for him to cut off contact with her. "And as I came through and started to realize certain things about you and I, he decided to break all communication with me,” said Jada, “which was totally understandable. And I let that be and hadn't talked to him since."August seemingly commented on Jada's Red Table Talk admission by taking to his Twitter shortly after the episode dropped, but didn't name names, while also clarifying romance rumours with actress-signer KeKe Palmer.[video_embed id='1875819']BEFORE YOU GO: Will Smith admits he was jealous of Jada Pinkett and Tupac[/video_embed]
