“Everybody, heads up high.”

Those were the first words out of coach Dave Belisle’s mouth as his dejected Little League team gathered around. They had just lost to Jackie Robinson West in a World Series match with a close score of 8-7, and you could see the tears beginning to swell in many of their eyes.

“Look at the score: 8-7,” he continued. “You had the whole place jumping, the whole state jumpin’, you had New England jumpin’, you had ESPN jumpin’.”

“Because you want to know why? They like fighters.”

Belisle told the players to feel proud, and even made sure they were all looking him in the eye, chins up. The coach admitted that he too would probably shed a few tears, but only because he won’t be coaching them again after this run.

“I love you guys, and I’ll love you forever,” he finished. “You’ve given me the most precious moment of my coaching and athletic career.”

It’s not every day you see an incredible post-game speech like this. Check out the video above.
