BBC cameramen infiltrated a penguin nursery in Antarctica and captured images of these birds in their natural habitat. For the first time ever, the clever cameramen were able to photograph penguins from extremely close range.
So how did they do it? With robot penguins of course.
The BBC team outfitted 50 fake robot penguins with cameras so that they could get as close as possible to the animals. In their upcoming documentary, Penguins – Spy In The Huddle, the crew follows three different penguin communities over a year and observes their behaviour.
I can’t wait to see this film, but in the meantime I am enjoying the adorable photos they released of these cute penguins.
