Decorate your tree like a pro

Let Debbie Travis show you how to decorate your tree like a professional this holiday season.

The Homespun Look – Traditional red, white, and green colours, done up with handcrafted, homespun touches and details. (Gingham, ric rac, and stitching details) Things like sweater ornaments and fabric owls will help complete this look.

The Woodland Splendor Tree – This look incorporates Layered gold’s (mixed with natural looks) Nature as inspiration: woodland creatures, especially done in natural materials such as wood, pinecones, straw/grass, and Birds, etc. Luxe finishes and Details that only look expensive. You also want to add Woodland creatures, in natural materials to finish off the look of the Woodland Splendor tree.

The Prestige Tree– Rich jewel tones, especially a blue-­-based purple, berry, and wine tones, mixed with gold embellishments. For this look you also want to add intricate exotic details like cutouts, filigree and jewel encrusted ornaments. Adding a bit of bling with sequenced ornaments will really give the tree that extra special look.

The Heirloom Tree- For this look, you want to incorporate soft shimmery pinks and pastels. Pearled and jeweled details also work really well. For the final touches you want to add vintage inspired icons like the Victorian parasol ornament.

The Icescapes Tree – Deep vibrant cobalt blue with icy silver, white, and paler blue is what you will need as far as colours go for this look. You also want to add shinny, mirrored elements to this particular look, these disco ball ornaments are perfect. To give the tree that wintery, snowy look, you want to add something like the snow covered ornaments, it’s perfect to complete the look.

The Holiday Frosting Tree – Mixing bright colours (bright blue, green, red, etc.) and fun looks, such as cookie and frosting details, polka dots and stripes will build this look. You will also want to add many different coloured balls to the tree, like you see here. Fun patterns and shapes like these Glitter Starburst Ornaments will help complete the look on this tree. adding cookies and frosting, gingerbread and friend ornaments will really complete the look.
