It’s hard to imagine anyone facing major surgery with unfiltered joy, but few people share the same inspirational attitude as Deborah Cohan.

The California woman, an obstetrician and mother of two children, knew she was about to go in for a life-changing operation. As The Huffington Post reports, Cohan needed a double mastectomy to ward off the breast cancer that could threaten her life.

Putting on her scrubs in anticipation of the surgery, however, she decided she wasn’t going to go on the table without having a little party first. A dance party.

In a six-minute video uploaded to YouTube, Cohan and her surgical team bust out some impressive moves to Beyonce music playing in the background. It’s hard to believe the woman about to undergo such a life-changing, difficult circumstance could project such incredible, joyous energy. Not to mention moves. Woman can dance.

This joy is so important to Cohan’s entire life view, that she’s even asked her friends and family to make their own Beyonce home dance videos to keep her company during the long healing process.

Fans, of which there are now many, are also welcome to make their own contributions.
