If you’ve ever had a hard time finding your hotel, you’re either going to love or hate a new kind of hotel that has “popped up” in Belgium. Sleeping Around hotel has no fixed address, and upon booking guests are simply given GPS coordinates. The hotel is housed in recycled shipping containers (the ones that go on cargo ships) so it can be moved around.
Right now, the hotel is on the side of a river in Antwerp but that’s due to change at some point in the future. The hotel is actually six 20-foot shipping containers. Four of them are rooms, one is a breakfast/lounge container (where you can eat breakfast in the morning or grab a drink in the evening) and a sixth sauna container is in the works. Temporary wooden walkways link the containers.
Each room container has a comfortable bed, a rain shower, an iPod dock and air conditioning. One side of the container is entirely windows (with coverings for privacy), so you won’t feel too contained. A night at the hotel starts at about $200 per night. You can recommend a new location for the hotel on their website.
