Some days can be tough for moms — whether they work in an office and have to rush home to get sh*t done, work from home and have to balance reports and conference calls with baby’s feedings and diaper changes, or are SAHMs whose days consist of taking care of the children, keeping the house livable, and making sure there’s food to feed everyone. Of course, whatever your long days consist of has become the norm to you, and by the end, you’re exhausted and over it.

But your experience isn’t necessarily what your kids are feeling. In fact, from their little eyes, each day is a totally different day.

Vlogger Esther Anderson created a video to show a “normal” day for a mom, from the grocery shopping, a middle-of-the-night wake-up call, playing referee between two fighting kids, a screaming baby, a dirty diaper that’s the stuff nightmares are made of, and the slow motion horror of a dropped cake and, man, we want to cry for her. But save your tears for what’s about to come, because you won’t be able to stop them from flowing.

Mom gets a break as her husband puts their toddler daughter to bed, and when he asks about her day, the little girl’s memory is a huge contrast with what Mom recalled.

Those moments where you want to scream into a pillow? Try and remember that, for your kids, those are the same times they might be thinking you’re the greatest, most awesome mom around. It’s a sweet reminder that after a full day of taking care of kids and all the frustrations that come with that, the effect loving moms have on their children can be magical. Especially if there’s cake on the floor.
