Since Your Morning host Kelsey McEwen announced her pregnancy on-air, she’s received amazingly positive messages from viewers about her little miracle. This week though, a tweet was brought to her attention by the show’s team where a viewer felt the need to call her maternity wear ‘disgusting.’ Rather than let it slide, McEwan took to her own twitter to talk body-shaming, finding your own self-worth and what’s really disgusting in this world. Here’s the six-tweet thread.

She also addressed the hate on-air the next morning alongside her supportive co-hosts, Ben Mulroney and Anne-Marie Mediwake.

‘When what I’m wearing is what you find disgusting in this world–in this week in particular–you need to check your priorities,’ she said, ‘I’m a firm believer that my body and your body is no one’s business but your own.’

‘Your body is not for anyone to talk about whether they’re talking about your pregnant shape or they are talking about your athleticism or your hair colour or your skin colour, it is not anyone else’s business but your own.’

She went on to talk about how judging people’s worth based solely on their physical appearances is a negative and slippery slope. She pointed out that during a week filled with hatred and Donald Trump defending white nationalists, neo-Nazis and the KKK, we all just need a little less hate and a little more love.

‘Let’s not just share the love, but stand up to [racism, hate and bullying] and say ‘enough is enough’ and ‘we’re better than this’ and we are so much more than how we look.’

‘I don’t want to leave behind that I looked rocking through my pregnancy–which I know I do by the way–but I want to leave behind that I’m a good person and that I tried to make the world a better place.’

Well said, Kelsey. *Pen drop*
