Remember those horsemeat-tainted meatballs from Ikea?
Well, the company is trying to sell them.
The furniture-retailer is stuck with a massive load of recalled meat, and desperately wants to get rid of it. Since Swedes are sometimes open to a little variety in their diet, all the company had to do was put two and two together.
‘Let’s sell them anyway!’
After all, the issue was always over the misleading content labelling, not the actual presence of horse DNA in the meat. So Ikea is waiting for authorities to make a decision. And the good news is, if they approve the sale, the proceeds will go to charity.
Otherwise, the meat will be used as biogas.
