The Toronto Zoo’s newest polar bear is almost too much to handle. Even the most macho of men find themselves forced to say ‘aww’ in his presence. Born November 9, the little guy is just learning how to walk and play, but he’s already had a big impact on Canadians everywhere. Six million people watched him take his first steps on YouTube:
But Toronto Zoo’s new addition doesn’t even have a name yet. Surprising, when you consider what the little guy has been through. The bear is the sole survivor of its litter of 3, and almost died after his mother, Aurora, rejected him. Veterinarians stepped in after they found the cub not moving, and weren’t sure if he was going to make it:
But luckily for Canadians, he did. The bear has since begun teething and learning to play – his name will also be chosen on March 3rd. The bear even has a brother that he has no idea about – Hudson – who lives in Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Zoo. Below, he can be seen meeting another bear for the first time:
