We’ve all complimented someone’s eyes before, but this is ridiculous.

A new eye-licking fetish known as oculolinctus is sweeping across the schools of Japan. Alternatively known by the even sexier term ‘worming’, the practice involves one lover sliding their bacteria-covered mouth muscle over someone else’s eyeball. And this has become their equivalent to second base – what a person graduates to once they’re able to get past the kissing stage.

Not surprisingly, the fetish is linked to all sorts of health problems. Japanese officials are blaming a significant rise of pink eye and eye-chlamydia on worming. In one classroom of 12-year-olds, one third of students confessed to licking or being licked, but officials didn’t notice something was wrong until students started showing up to school wearing eye patches, according to ShanghaiList.com.

“My boyfriend started licking my eyeballs years ago and I just loved it. I’m not with him anymore, but I still like to ask guys to lick my eyeballs,” environmental science student Elektrika Energias told The Huffington Post. “I just love it because it turns me on, like sucking on my toes. It makes me feel all tingly.”

Tingly indeed. Some doctors even note that if the wormer has a cold sore, it’s possible to spread herpes into the receiver’s eye. It can also cause blindness because of all the bacteria exchange.

Still feeling tingly?
