They say it’s better shaken, not stirred.
A Toronto man thought he was losing his mind when he suddenly felt like he could ‘ride’ the James Bond theme. But it turned out he really developed a rare condition known as synesthesia, which causes the brain’s senses to overlap.
In other words, this patient can taste sound and touch sight.
For example, he thinks raspberries taste like ‘a certain shade of blue,’ and called the James Bond theme song ‘orgasmic.’
His condition was triggered when the Toronto man suffered a stroke. But most people are born with it, with some estimates pegging the number at one in every 2,000 people.
But luckily for this Toronto man, he’s learned to switch his synesthesia on and off.
“I realized early on that if I have any of these weird feelings, it’s just because of the stroke,” he said. “It’s not because I’m going crazy.”
Just call it a beautiful mind.
