For weeks, life skills students from one Ontario town have been waiting to get down on the dance floor, and earlier this week, they finally stepped into their Winter Ball.

Teachers and staff at Bear Creek Secondary School invited hundreds of special-needs students from 12 schools in Barrie, Ont. to their first annual Winter Ball. They’ve been planning this event since November, which came complete with a beauty boutique and a photo booth.

“This is a big exciting moment for them. We’ve been talking about it for weeks and weeks and weeks,” said one staff member. “…not all these kids get the opportunity to participate in something like this and wear a fancy dress and have their hair and nails done, so they’re all super excited.”

The kids all seemed to have a good time, with one of them saying, “I’m excited to dance. Have fun with my friends. Cool stuff, not gonna lie.”

How cute is that?

Watch the adorable kids shake their stuff on the dance floor and share some sweet moments with their crushes in the video above.
