As far as we’re concerned, Prince Harry can do no wrong. Even when he was up to his party boy ways a few short years ago, we still found ways to excuse his shenanigans. But there are some people out there who feel the need to nitpick so badly, they’ll find fault with anything — even if they don’t have a leg to stand on. They’ll grasp at straws, overreach, anything to point out any slip-ups by everyone’s favourite British royal.

The latest? Harry was criticized for breaking military rules by sporting his now-signature beard while on duty at a Remembrance Day parade on Sunday.

“Prince Harry is letting us all down,” a serving member in the elite cavalry regiment told the Daily Mail. “There’s no place for beards in the Queen’s cavalry. He should have shaved it off for such an important day.”

Despite the comeback of scruffy faces, the British Army has refused to relent on its anti-facial hair stance. Only a soldier or officer with a skin issue or a Sikh can have a beard. That being said, since Harry is no longer serving, he can do what he wants.

“I can confirm that Prince Harry is no longer a serving officer and therefore does not have to comply with any of these regulations,” a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence told the Mail. “He is, however, a member of the Royal Family and at times his duties require him to don the uniform of a tied or associated regiment and does so with a beard, as did his great-great-grandfather before him.”

Not that Harry needed defending, but many took to social media to clap back at those criticizing the Ginger Beard.

Some stating the obvious, that there are bigger fish to fry.

And others pointing out what took place long before Harry served.

It’s not the first time Harry’s facial hair has made headlines. Just last month, a survey of 1,000 people was conducted and the prince beat the likes of Ryan Gosling, Idris Elba and Bradley Cooper for the title of world’s sexiest beard. We don’t disagree.
