He may be the future king of England but Prince William is also a father. And when given the opportunity to speak with Santa Claus/Father Christmas himself, Will knew he had to put in a good word about his son to the big man. Because if he didn’t, Prince George may have done something regrettable and found himself off the nice list and toplining the naughty.

William was in Helsinki, Finland, visiting a traditional festive market and meeting local residents when a certain jolly someone happened to park his sleigh nearby and join them. What a coincidence. And during his busy time too!

“I had to give you this letter,” Will told Santa, according to Metro. And it was like George was there, prodding his dad with his little hands.

So, what did the four-year-old ask for? According to William, “He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK.” The pre-printed list was more of a fill-in-the-blank-type deal so George had it covered. He made sure to circle “nice,” because, obviously. Will and Kate aren’t raising a fool! And because George didn’t want to seem greedy, he skipped 1 and 2 and nonchalantly put down what he wants in the No. 3 position. NBD.

A police car. (Assuming it’s a toy car and not the real deal.) That’s it.

Also? How professional-looking is that signature? Considering schools in our parts no longer care about penmanship, this is pretty darn good.

William and Kate have always tried to keep their lives as normal as possible. But, hey, if they’re willing to play the royal card to get some face time with Kris Kringle, they need to take it. You do what you gotta do for your kids. Will gets that.
