If the new reality in the United States continues, then President Donald Trump still has 1,342 days left in his first term. That’s a hella long time, but there’s hope. According to a new national poll, if Dwayne Johnson were to make his “real possibility” of running for POTUS a reality, he actually stands a chance. In fact, the way things are going, if The Rock ran as a Democrat, he’d be ahead of Trump.
Go on and un-raise your People’s Eyebrow because the numbers don’t lie. According to the poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling, Johnson leads Trump 42/37, and wins over 15 per cent of those who supported Trump last year.
Based on the findings, 36 per cent of voters see Johnson favourably compared to 13 per cent who view him negatively, while 50 per cent have no opinion. But as far as parties go, both Democrats and Republicans dig him.
And it’s not just Johnson who leads Trump. The current president is also lagging behind other potentials like Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Al Franken, and Elizabeth Warren. But forget about them and let’s get back to business. The Rock. The same man who played a hockey-playing tooth fairy, redirected a torpedo in the last Fast and Furious movie, and used to ask if we could smell what he was cooking is laying a Rock Bottom on Trump and it shouldn’t be surprising.
Compared to the cartoon shenanigans happening at the hands of the moustache-twirling leader of the free world, The Rock is a perfect candidate, what with serving in the fictional military (in Walking Tall), CIA (in Central Intelligence) and DEA (in Snitch), working within the police force (in The Other Guys) and as a secret spy (Get Smart), helping put troubled youth on the right path (in Gridiron Gang), and even caring about the environment (in Baywatch).
Please, Rock, run — and run away with it.
