Poor Taylor Swift. So far, 2013 hasn’t been great for the singer. She and Harry Styles had a messy breakup (with more mess to come), she lost a Golden Globe to Adele and she was mocked by Tina Fey. Now, it’s Michael J. Fox’s turn. Ouch.
Remember when Fey warned Swifty to “stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son” during last Sunday’s Globes ceremony (where Sam was serving as this year’s Mr. Golden Globe)? It seems the Canadian star agrees with Fey.
Michael was at a book party on Wednesday and New York Magazine‘s Vulture asked if he would be down with a Saylor (great name) situation.
“No. No… just back off,” he said. “I don’t keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.”
Even if Sam was interested, this last parting snipe all but guarantees a Swifty/Fox pairing will never, ever happen. (Like, ever.) If Taylor showed up for a Fox family dinner, Vulture asked, how would he react?
“I wouldn’t even know who she was,” he said. But she would make more of an impact if they split and she wrote a song about his son. “‘Sam, You Piece of S***.’ Oh… that was the girl you brought home!”
If anyone thought MJF was a sweet guy who would never say a bad thing about anyone — whoops. But could his comments be any funnier? Honestly, I don’t think he was trying to intentionally be mean; he just doesn’t want Swifty anywhere near his son. Who would at this point? Mike is just being a protective dad — and rightly so. Swift has made it clear what her number-one inspiration is when it comes to penning number-one diddies. No one can blame Fox for saying what everyone else is thinking. Somewhere, Kanye West is doing the “I Told You So” dance, muttering to himself, “Finally! What took y’all so long?”
