Lindsay Lohan was in fine form last week. She irrationally fired her longtime lawyer, Shawn Holley (after she had arranged a deal for Linds to stay out of jail in exchange for a few months in rehab), then realized what a hot-head, bonehead, knucklehead move that was and begged Shawn to come back to the dark side. But after nearly three long years, and like Lindsay’s former publicist, Steve Honig before her, Holley is finally done with LiLo.
Sources close to LiLo tell TMZ that Lindsay tried to do a takesies-backsies with Shawn, saying “she made a mistake firing her and wants her back,” but Holley “has had it.” Lohan still owes Holley a ton of money (at last check, in and around $300,000), and will probably never see it. Um, when it comes to LiLo, don’t you get the certified cheques beforehand? But Shawn probably thought they were more than just attorney and client (they even attended last year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner together, go figure) and Lindsay would never hang her out to dry. Silly.
TMZ reports Holley “is in the process of filling out paperwork and getting the necessary signatures to officially withdraw” from Lohan’s case (the first hearing of which is on Jan. 30). LiLo will have to rely on her shady New York lawyer, Mark Heller, but that might be tough since, according to TMZ, he is not licensed to practice in California.
Ugh. Typical Lohan, no? She makes a rash decision that makes zero sense, soon after realizes it was a mistake, and tries desperately to take it back. Linds probably blames Shawn for making her fire her, or blames the coin she tossed for landing on heads to fire Holley, and not tails to keep her around. Holley, you’ll be missed. There was something oddly comforting about seeing the long-suffering attorney always by Lindsay’s side, but now that she’s gone (run, Shawn, run far, far away from LiLo and never look back), who knows what lies in store for Lindsay. Guess we’ll find out at her pre-trial next week.
