Do (famous) people really keep journals? Diaries which reveal their deepest, darkest secrets and, if found, can be sold to the highest bidder? I don’t know. But Radar Online claims the late Robert Kardashian kept them, his widow is sharing them and they read like a scandalous tell-all. How convenient.
According to the diaries, written between 1988 and 1990, Robert wrote about his troubled marriage to Kris Jenner, how she cheated on him and what a terrible, abusive mom she was to Kim, Kourtney and Khloe. Whoa.
The journals claim Pimp Mama Kris would “hide out in her bedroom for days at a time to sleep off the effects of hard partying and avoiding her young children.” In one entry, from Sept. 27, 1989, Robert alleges his daughters would call him crying after Kris forgot to pick them up from school because she was off gallivanting with her lover, Todd Waterman.
“The whole time she was gone she NEVER asked to talk with her kids,” he wrote.
The worst, however is an entry from Aug. 24, 1989, in which Robert wrote how Kris got violent with eight-year-old Kim.
“Kris was kicking and beating her and said she was going to kill her! Kim was hysterical. Kris then got on the phone and said, ‘Kim, if you don’t get up here right now you are dead!’”
It was Ellen Kardashian, Robert’s widow, who shared the diary with In Touch Weekly, saying, “They are my personal possessions and he left them to me on his passing,” adding that he wrote the journal “during 1989 and 1990 at a most trying and touching time of his life.”
A source told In Touch that it’s the eldest Kardashian who still resents Kris for the way she treated them during their childhood.
“Kourtney has been the angriest with her, especially now that she has her own kids. She has had a hard time understanding the choices her mother made, and definitely holds a lot of resentment,” the source claimed. “They may not have publicly revealed their rocky childhoods, but they still carry the scars. The girls definitely don’t have any respect for their mother; that’s why they call her Kris most of the time.”
A Kardashian rep denied the allegations, saying, “We have no knowledge of these diaries existing and these accusations are ridiculous and not true.”
Well, of course, they had no idea the diaries existed. That’s the whole point of keeping one, isn’t it? But could the accusations be true? Maybe. The neglect part, sure, but hopefully not the abuse on Kim. Yeesh. There are ways to prove whether or not Robert really wrote those entries, but Kris would never let that happen if there’s an ounce of truth to them.
