Anyone who believed Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries‘ marriage was for real is in some serious denial. Amanda Bynes-level denial. We already knew that scenes from their reality show following their divorce announcement were re-shot — particularly one scene that was supposedly filmed in Dubai in October (before she and Kris publicly broke up), but was revealed to actually be taped in December in a blacked-out limo in L.A., after their split was already announced. And I’m pretty sure we knew that the proposal was a farce, too, though that may have just been Kris’ allegations. Now the basketball player has proof from someone associated with the reality show, and it’s totally backing up his case.
Life & Style has court documents from Kim and Kris’ divorce case and got their hands on a deposition from Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer Russell Jay, filed Feb. 4, which admits “that at least two scenes depicting Kris negatively were scripted, re-shot or edited.” Dun-dun-duuun.
“Kris feels vindicated,” a source tells the mag. “It’s obvious they were trying to tarnish his reputation. This will prove how fake Kim and the show are.”
Jay’s deposition states Kardashian was unaware of when Humphries was going to pop the question and “was completely surprised” by his proposal, but she didn’t like her reaction and asked, “Can we just, like, have me come back in one more time and be, like, really surprised?”
Jay also confirms that those Dubai scenes were shot after she had already filed for divorce. And there was also an episode in which Kim was mad over a hotel party her estranged husband threw, but she allegedly knew what was happening the entire time.
The depos indicate that Kardashian uses “tear stick” to cry on show, and scenes featuring Humphries in a negative light “were scripted, reshot or edited.” So, all of them? But this evidence definitely backs up Kris’ claim that his 72-day marriage to Kim was a sham, a publicity stunt for ratings.
Kim, however, is accusing Kris’ lawyers of leaking testimony, and believes Humphries doesn’t even want her money. “He’s just trying to make her miserable,” a source told Page Six. It’s working, I’m guessing.
The two are due to appear in court on May 6 unless, by some miracle, they settle beforehand. For now, it looks like Humphries is ahead. Well, as ahead as one can be in a divorce as ridiculous as theirs.
