Suri Cruise is a six-year-old fashion plate as well as the subject of a long-standing and seemingly never-ending international obsession. When you think of it that way, I guess it only makes sense that the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise is apparently fielding offers for her daughter to star in various ad campaigns.
According to Radar Online, Katie has been “inundated” with offers from clothing companies and other brands who want Cruise Jr. to be the face of their operations, but lucky for Suri, Katie has other priorities for her first born.
“She just wants Suri to have as normal a childhood as possible. Katie is trying to keep her grounded and forget the celebrity lifestyle that she’s become accustomed to,” says a supposed Holmes family insider, taking a subtle jab at Tom and his opulent parenting style.
“In an ideal world, Katie doesn’t want Suri to follow in her footsteps into showbiz. She would prefer her daughter worked in law, like her father.”
It all sounds reasonable, I mean, after what Katie has gone through can you imagine if she did want to see her daughter become a celebrity? That said, Suri is already a famous little lady, so does her caring mom even have a say in the matter?
Like let’s say Little Sci does decide to go to law school and live a comparatively “regular” existence—will the paparazzi still be taking pictures of her when she’s 18? What about 30?
It’s hard to predict at this point. I guess a lot of it depends on whether Tom continues to be one of the most controversial and talked about people on the planet. For now, Katie is wise to keep her kid away from modelling. It’s what’s best for Suri and besides, leave the kidding modelling gigs for the young people who are going to have to pay for their own schooling.
