Darn. Thanks to reports of Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn growing closer, it seems those rumours about Tiger getting back together with ex-wife Elin Nordegren were just that — rumours. That sucks, because that would’ve made fantastic gossip. Tiger and Elin, hashing out an expensive deal complete with a pricey pre-nup and an anti-cheating clause? That’s gold. Tiger dating Lindsey? Sweet, but meh. Now if it were Lindsay Lohan, that would be an entirely different — and totally awesome — story. Dare to dream.
It was just last month that The Enquirer reported a reunion between Tiger and Elin, but it seems it’s another blonde who has captured the golfer’s heart. According to Us Weekly, Tiger and Lindsey have spent time with each other’s families, and Vonn’s brother recently gave ski lessons to Woods’ daughter, Sam, and son, Charlie.
Us reports the two met at a charity event in April 2012 but things didn’t get serious until the fall when “their friendship slowly turned into a friendship,” tattled an insider. They were spotted skiing together in Austria last November but that could’ve been just two pals hitting the slopes. It was the report that came earlier this month that had everyone buzzing about the pair.
After Vonn crashed during the Super-G race at the Alpine Ski World Championships in Austria on Feb. 5, tearing two ligaments in her knee and breaking a bone in her lower leg in the process, TMZ posted a photo of Lindsey boarding Tiger’s private plane a few days later, so she could get home, and rest up for reconstructive knee surgery.
Neither Tiger nor Lindsey have confirmed their romance, but Woods sending his private jet probably isn’t the best way to keep things between them a secret. They’re probably taking things slow, though. Lindsey just finalized her divorce from fellow skier Thomas Vonn last month and Tiger is, well, Tiger. He could very well have spent the last 24 hours in a hot tub in a sorority house.
