Tori Spelling: We can’t afford a vasectomy for Dean

Even though her last delivery almost killed her, the reality star complains they're too broke to get the potential life-saving operation. Sure.

Tori Spelling comes from one of the wealthier families in Hollywood. Her dad was so rich that her mother famously had an entire room in their city-sized mansion for nothing more than gift wrapping paper and accessories.

When Aaron Spelling died, Tori went on record saying she only inherited $800,000 from his estate, which, let’s face it, is a lot of money. Maybe not if you’re used to mansions with gift wrapping rooms, but I can think of many, many ways to live very well off that sum if you’re smart with investments. Plus, she’s got tons of money from her 90210 days and how many reality shows and product endorsement deals has she done? Answer: Tons.

Plus Tori’s mom, Candy, pretty much called her out on it, saying she inherited way more than she claimed.

In any event, Tori and Dean McDermott have been crying that they’re broke for the last little while.

She’s on a book tour now, which is totally what flat broke people do all the time, and she’s taking the opportunity to speak to the press about her horrible near-death experience while delivering her last child (legitimate sympathy there) AND crying that they don’t want anymore children but they’re too broke to get Dean a vasectomy. *record scratch. HUH?

“Tori Spelling‘s husband Dean McDermott wanted to get a vasectomy — but the cash-strapped couple’s business manager told them they couldn’t afford it!” says Radar Online.

“McDermott’s vasectomy was just one of the expenses that got cut from the budget as the showbiz couple struggle to make ends meet for their large brood.

“We don’t have a series on the air right now, so we have to be more restrictive of what we can spend, just like anyone who doesn’t currently have a steady job,” Spelling said.

So… uh, maybe GET A STEADY JOB? Is that too radical a thought?

I am assuming that Tori and Dean have health care. Maybe they don’t even? Who knows. Even if they don’t, a vasectomy costs about $700 at Planned Parenthood. Someone at another gossip site actually checked this.

I can think of a million ways to raise $700. I can think of a million ways people without a fraction of their resources can raise $700. In Hollywood, that’s literally lunch money. You could probably find it in fallen street change on Rodeo Drive. Ask Jennie Garth, for god’s sake! She’ll lend it to you! Start a crowd funding vasectomy site. Stage a paparazzi shoot. Maybe don’t get the Venti Iced Latte next time? There is no way these people cannot find $700 for a vasectomy, an operation that could potentially save Tori’s life. What are their priorities here??

There’s something incredibly suspect about Tori and Dean’s complaint. If they’re playing this for sympathy as part of the publicity game it’s a pretty low move – by any standard.
