Remember when Prince William was at the agricultural show in Anglesy a couple weeks back? He spoke of his love for the island and its residents, basically giving his farewell speech to the island on behalf of himself and his wife, Duchess Kate.
“I know that I speak for Catherine when I say I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey,” he said on Aug. 15. “I know that both of us will miss it terribly when my search and rescue tour of duty comes to an end next month and we have to move elsewhere. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my wife and me so welcome when we arrived here, as you do thousands of visitors each year.”
He added: “This island had been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both. Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family.”
Perhaps Will should have saved his sweet speech for today because while William opened a three-day marathon in Anglesey today, he was overshadowed by the appearance of his wife, who showed up and surprised everyone there.
According to Hello! Canada, Kate looked as stylish as ever, wearing “a floaty patterned top, black skinny jeans and her trademark LK Bennett wedges,” and “completed the look with a light green tweed jacket.”
Kate joined Will as they met competitors and organizers at the start of the tough 135-mile race, which follows the Anglesey Coastal Path. But where was their son, George? Kate told one of the many well-wishers that Grandma Carole was looking after the baby.
Honestly, I think Kate could have brought Georgie but wisely chose not to because it would have been a complete distraction from the event. I just wonder if the first time we see the baby again will be a casual trip to the store, or if it will be a pre-announced thing?
