By now you may have come to love (or completely hate) the Honest Trailer tradition. Spliced together by the pranksterish Screen Junkies, Honest Trailers good-naturedly poke fun at the plot holes, special effects, and actors in our favourite blockbusting films. The latest movie to get its own Honest Trailer is Sam Mendes’ Skyfall. The billion dollar-earning film is an obvious target for a mocking trailer, partially due to its huge success, but also because the film is part of a long-running franchise that has yet to receive attention from the Honest Trailer trolls the way franchises like Batman and Lord of the Rings have.

Skyfall‘s Honest Trailer admits to the 50th anniversary Bond film’s success right off the top of the clip, only Screen Junkies don’t credit the film’s Oscar-nominated cinematography or Daniel Craig’s Critics Choice Award-winning acting. No, they figure that people liked Skyfall so much because Quantum of Solace (the previous, confusingly titled Bond film) was so terrible. From there they go on to make fun of one of the basic characteristics of the entire Bond franchise: the fact that everyone knows the real name of “super-secret” high-level MI6 operative, James Bond. (It’s true—sometimes he tells people before they even ask!)

The clip takes shots at 007?s adversaries, too. In Skyfall, Bond must overcome the trials and tribulations of office politics, gruelling word association games and Judi Dench’s perma-frown—not to mention the film’s villain (though he, as the Honest Trailer points out, “doesn’t show up until half-way through the movie”). But Bond must be armed with some pretty high-tech gadgetry if he’s expected to triumph, right? The Honest Trailer lists them for us: Craig’s Bond packs “a gun, a knife, a shot gun, an old-timey gun, dynamite, and a tracking device larger than the one Bond used in the 60s.”

Aside from the unfunny references to rape and Javier Bardem’s Silva “making Bond gay”, the Honest Trailer is pretty amusing (so long as you don’t take your Bond films too seriously). Check it out below (and be sure to watch for Sexy Voldemort):
