In 1987, actress Mia Farrow gave birth to her fourth child, Satchel Ronan O’Sullivan Farrow. At the time, Farrow was in a relationship with director Woody Allen and the pair had already adopted a daughter together, but Ronan, as he’s now known, was the couple’s first biological child. Or so Allen (and the rest of us) thought. In a lengthy new Vanity Fair article, Mia floats the possibility that 25-year-old Ronan, and activist, journalist, and lawyer, is actually the son of Frank Sinatra.
Farrow told the magazine that just because she divorced the legendary crooner in 1968, doesn’t mean that the two former flames stopped seeing each other. “We never really split up,” says the actress. When VF asked her if there was a chance that Ronan – a blue-eyed, square-jawed, absolutely un-Allen-esque young man – might be Sinatra’s kid Farrow gave the following one-word answer: “Possibly.”
Ronan has a pretty acrimonious relationship with Allen (last Father’s Day he tweeted a “happy brother-in-law’s day” message to his dad, making fun of the fact that Allen is married to one of Farrow’s adopted daughters, Soon-Yi Previn) but he has a great relationship with the Sinatra family. “He is a big part of us, and we are blessed to have him in our lives,” Nancy Sinatra Jr. told VF.
But it doesn’t sound like Ronan has any immediate plans to run a DNA test to find out the truth (which could possibly get rid of Woody for good). Earlier today he joked about his mother’s recent Vanity Fair bombshell, tweeting “Listen, we’re all *possibly* Frank Sinatra’s son” – a joke his mother liked so much that she re-tweeted it on her account as well.
