Apparently there are a couple of things you don’t do to Marilyn Manson. 1. Never fake an engagement with the Goth singer. He really doesn’t like that. 2. Despite his legacy and image, never call the guy a Nazi. He will sue your ass!
News has broken that Manson is suing a woman who has allegedly been harassing him for months. Manson filed a claim to the Los Angeles Superior Court saying that he has been the target of “a months-long campaign of defamation and harassment” by a women named Yolanda Tharpe who is some sort of low rent musician and horror film maker.
The law suit states that Tharpe announced the pair’s engagement to various media outlets even though Manson doesn’t even know her. It also states that once Manson’s lawyers demanded she retract the engagement, she claimed it was because he is “pro-Nazi” and did “not want to be seen with [African-American] women like her.”
Tharpe also claims that Manson is “responsible for the deaths of her two cats” and is stalking her. Hmmm, something doesn’t add up.
Manson is looking to score $50,000 in five causes of action for defamation, misappropriation of common law right of publicity, unlawful use of his name for commercial advantage, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
