In case you ever had the desire to smell like Icelandic ambient-dream-rock band Sigur Ros, I have some good news for you. The day has (for some reason) actually come. Jonsi and the rest of the Sigur Ros dudes have officially released their own brand of Sigur Ros inspired scented candles for sale.
The band is now selling custom candles in their merch store that are “specially developed to the band’s olfactory specifications, this candle burns for 35 evocative hours of ‘instant Iceland.” Seriously. Sounds like a spirit quest in your own living room, basement or solarium.
The scent of the candles is ACTUALLY described as “the smoky, slightly briny smell of a flotsam campfire on a distant black beach under a wan midnight sun. And, most recently, the smell of Sigur Ros’ studio, while they go about the quasi-mystical business of making the magic happen. Or something like that.”
So if you’re on the hunt for a pretentious candle to bring that perfect sad hipster ambiance to your home, you can shell out $23.50 at the band’s official merch store and make it happen. Lucky you.
