Michael Jackson‘s kids and mother want concert promoters AEG Live to cough up $40 billion to make up for lost future revenue they claim the star would have earned for a comeback tour…had he not died from a drug overdose.
Somehow kids Prince Michael I, Paris, and Prince (Blanket) Michael II, as well as mom Katherine, think that AEG Live are responsible for the singer’s death, despite the fact that Michael’s private physician, Conrad Murray, has already been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after giving him a lethal dose of the sedatives Propofol and benzodiazepine.
AEG Live were the promoters behind the “Thriller” legend’s aborted comeback tour, and the Jackson’s are claiming that there is an email trail that suggests that the company were instrumental in pulling the plug on the tour due to Jackson’s ill health. They claim that the company hired Murray, and knew Jackson was in no way able to tour.
One email describes the singer as ”an emotionally paralysed mess riddled with self-loathing and doubt now that it is show time.” The Jacksons are contending that the promotors, in hiring Murray, are responsible for his actions. AEG Live are saying that they had nothing to do with Murray’s medical decisions.
They also say that the amount the family think they deserve is ridiculous, since they claim the singer’s career was in a downward spiral after allegations of child molestation, drug addiction, and self-exile in the Middle East. Which is weird, since they were the company promoting his comeback. Why would they do that if they thought he was over?
A judge has ruled that there is enough evidence for a jury trial. Jackson lawyer Kevin Boyle said, “The truth about what happened to Michael is finally emerging. We look forward to the trial, where the rest of the story will come to light.”
Even after the grave, Jackson is back in court.
