The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has called Taylor Swift a “whore,” and plan to protest an upcoming concert in Kansas City, Mo. The extremist church has a long history of calling out entertainers, and apparently Swift has come into their sights.

Widely thought of as a hate group, the WBC has protested, or threatened to protest, just about everyone, from gays, to soldiers, to the Foo Fighters. Now Swift has drawn their ire, mainly due to the fact that she has had more than one boyfriend.

“@TaylorSwift13 works her ‘girl next door’ country-singer shtick, while hopping from one young man to the next and strutting across the world stage like a proud whore,” the group said in a statement to the press.

Citing Swift’s 29.9 million followers on Twitter, the group said that she “warble(s) about fornication, instead of warning her fellow man of the coming destruction.” They feel that if the “We Are Never Getting Back Together” star would simply tweet “Stop fornicating ladies, and obey God,” to her followers, it would “rock the house.”

WBC member Ben Phelps, grandson of founder Fred Phelps Sr., in an interview with RadarOnline, said that Swift’s appearance was “immodest,” and “vulgar.” Remember, this is Taylor Swift he was talking about, generally acknowledge as the “princess of country music.”

“This girl is a whore. Who else is gonna say that if it’s not the church of the Lord Jesus?” Phelps said. “She’s coming into our backyard. We’re gonna go preach to her.”

Of course the WBC has made headlines in the past for protesting, among other things, the funerals of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq. In 2006, they picketed the funeral of a U.S. marine killed in action, carrying banners saying “God hates fags,” and “Thank God for dead soldiers.”

Last year they attempted to picket the funerals of the slain children of the Newtown shooting massacre, stating the killings were God’s will, but bikers from the Hells Angels formed a human wall preventing them from approaching the service. Even the KKK hates them and that’s saying something.

In 2011, in response to picketing outside their concert in Kansas City, the Foo Fighters dressed up as rednecks and serenaded the group with a country song. Here’s footage:
