You have to be a special kind of pop star to enrage both the Philippine Congress and hamster advocates in the same week. Guess what folks, Justin Bieber is that special kind of pop star.
Yesterday we learned that the Philippine Congress was ticked off with the Biebs for mocking their country’s boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao on his Twitter after Pacquio’s epic loss to Juan Manuel Marquez. Bieber posted a bunch of “mean” photos and the Congress noticed, releasing a statement of censure to Bieber, and threatening to ban him from the country. For real!
Today we learned that the California Hamster Association (this is actually a real group) are beefing with Bieber for committing “animal cruelty” by giving his pet hamster away to a screaming fan. Apparently hamsters are extra-sensitive to change and by passing it off to a fan in that environment, the hamster’s demise was sure to follow.
It goes to show, it really is tough being the Biebs.
