If you are part of the crew that is helping set up the stage and venue for rock legend Paul McCartney’s big show at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium tonight, it would really help if you were a big fan of vegetarian cooking. Word has surfaced that the former Beatle has demanded that the entire crew for the Saskatchewan show only eat vegetarian meals.
McCartney, who will be playing his last show until November, has always been a big advocate of animal rights. In addition to his vegetarian crew demands, his tour rider wish list in the past has also demanded that all of the furniture in his dressing room should not be made of animal products.
According to the rider:
“It is crucial you do not provide furniture made of any animal skin or print. Do not provide artificial versions of animal skin or print either. Only animal free materials are excepted. (cottons, denims, velour, etc.)”
McCartney’s vegetarian demands are similar to former Smiths singer Morrissey’s live preferences. Morrissey will not perform where meat is being served. Back in 2009, he even walked off stage at his Coachella Festival after smelling meat cooking on the grounds.
