Miley Cyrus has done it again. She got the entire music world talking about her new naked and controversial video for her latest single “Wrecking Ball” that was directed by famous sleaze-ball Terry Richardson. The video which set Vevo records for the most viewed new video in one week, features Miley seductively licking a sledgehammer and riding a wrecking ball naked.
If most parents saw their daughter taking part and stripping down in a video the way Miley did, they would probably be pretty unhappy. But not Miley’s dad Billy Ray Cyrus. According to the famous country star, it doesn’t matter what Miley looked like in the video, it’s all about her vocal performance on the song.
“I’m a song man. A musician singer songwriter who loves all styles of music. But again…I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song …colliding if you will … in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band and the listener become one. It wouldn’t have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt …a Tux …or a nun’s habit. The song’s a smash …and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent.”
Sounds like Billy Ray is doing a good job of focusing away from the fact that his daughter suggestively licked a hammer and riding construction tools. But everyone parents their own way I guess.
