Showcase’s Lost Girl is about to get a little more lost. Like Willow in Season 6 of Buffy lost. Series star Anna Silk tells TV Guide Canada that her succubus heroine, Bo, has the “potential” to be the Big Bad of the upcoming third season.

“[Season 3] is about [Bo] having to come to terms with who she is, and that being fae doesn’t just mean having to choose between light and dark,” Silk reveals in a recent one-on-one interview.

“For Bo in particular, it means something else. And it could mean something dangerous and dark.”

Silk says Season 3 features multiple antagonists and that, “if things go in a certain direction,” Bo could definitely be one of them.

“Bo is more powerful than she knows,” Silk teases. “She’s more powerful than everyone knows! Except for maybe Trick. He seems to know everything!”

As Lost girls and boys will remember, Season 2 left us with Bo staring at her blackened eyes in the mirror and (seemingly) liking the unfamiliar, yet satisfying, feelings they inspired. This inner conflict returns to haunt her in the new year.

“She definitely has the biggest challenge of her life so far in Season 3,” Silk says. “The biggest physical challenge, the biggest mental challenge and the biggest emotional challenge.

“It challenges her own belief about herself and her strength. As much as she has this support system now in the Fae world, this season Bo really has to look inside herself and figure out what choices to make.”

Along this journey of self-reflection and self-discovery, expect Bo to also look further into her family lineage. After all, she still has to come to terms with the newfound discovery that Trick (Rick Howland) is her grandfather.

So says Silk, “[Trick] is there for her in a way that no one else can be. He’s family, he’s all-knowing, he’s very powerful. She can ask him things that she can’t ask anyone else …”

Like, who her biological dad is? Possibly, Silk says, although she wouldn’t go further than that. (There have to be some secrets in the Fae world!)

No matter how emotionally harrowing things get for our Bo, expect at least some of that Lost Girl signature sassy sultriness to seep through.

“It’s definitely still a sexy season,” Silk assures. “There are some sexy encounters.”

And hey, as long as we have those, it can’t be all (Big) bad.
