It’s another Y-E-S for NCIS. CBS has renewed the series, network TV’s highest ranking drama, as well as star and executive producer Mark Harmon’s contract.
In a release sent out to the press Friday, CBS stated that both NCIS and Harmon will be back for the “2013-2014? television season.
“NCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today’s global content ecosystem,” CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves said in a statement. “High-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform.”
“In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger, and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man.”
Over the past ten years, NCIS has gone from being one of the top-rated dramas on TV to being crowned “the #1 show on television.” Now in its tenth season, the series garners an impressive 21.48 million viewers per episode.
Aside from Harmon, the main cast of NCIS includes Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Cote de Pablo, Sean Murray, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum.
NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Global/CBS.
