This year’s Junos may have to be renamed the Croonos. CTV has chosen Canadian crooner Michael Bublé as their 2013 Juno Awards host.

CTV dropped the Bublé bomb during Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLVII broadcast, as they aired a specially prepared commercial (pictured above) in which the singer and two other Canadian music stars, celebrity couple Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) and Avril Lavigne, were seen watching a commercial for – what else - the Junos, while lying in bed together.

“I think this year’s going to be excellent!” a teddy bear-clutching Bublé quipped, before cheekily stealing some of Lavigne’s popcorn and inciting a death stare from Kroeger.

Shortly following the ad, CTV confirmed the announcement via a press release, also noting that the Bublé-centric broadcast will come to Canadians live from Regina’s Brandt Centre.

“This year the stars and moon have lined up and we’re giving Canadians what they want, Michael Bublé,” 2013 Junos producer John Brunton said in a statement Sunday.

Juno Awards president and CEO Melanie Berry says we can expect to see Mr. Bublé “lighting up the stage with his infallible charm and charisma” as “his incredible sense of humour shine[s].” In addition to introducing the show, Bublé will be performing a song from his new, yet-to-be-named album.

“I am going to do my very best to make it a great night!” Bublé said in his own statement “It’s a huge honour to be the host of a show that has done so much for Canadian talent, including myself.”

Bublé fans can nab tickets to the Junos starting Friday, Feb 22, at 10 a.m. Otherwise, they can watch the show live on CTV Sunday, April 21.
