If Larisa Oleynik could disappear into a ball of silver goo right now, like her unforgettable character on Nickelodeon’s The Secret World of Alex Mack, she probably would. The actress, seen latest on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, recently had to take out a restraining order against a crazed fan.
TMZ reports that Oleynik had to take legitimate legal action at the end of January after a man named Josh Hathaway took his love of her several steps too far.
Hathaway has reportedly been stalking Oleynik for years, sending her creepy love letters and calling her mother’s home in attempts to connect with her. He even changed his last name to Oleynik and wanted to ask her to marry him.
“You are very precious to me,” Hathaway wrote in one message to Oleynik. “Keep me on your wheel of love.”
In the documents that the real Oleynik and her mother filed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court last month, she stated that she’s “worried [Hathaway] is unstable and could snap at any moment.” Her chosen judge must have agreed, as he granted both women the right to take out three-year restraining orders against the man.
Although ’90s kids will remember Oleynik from her Alex Mack days, her starring role in the classic teen flick 10 Things I Hate About You and her recurring gig as Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s girlfriend on 3rd Rock from the Sun , she has done a number of notable TV cameos over the past couple of years. She’s currently playing Ezra Fitz’s (Ian Harding) secret baby mama, Maggie, on Pretty Little Liars, and she also played Cynthia Cosgrove on several episodes of Mad Men.
