Buckle up, Fringe fans, this is no alternate universe. Walter Bishop John Noble is headed to CBS’s The Good Wife for what sounds like an absolutely appropriate, time-jumping episode.
Series star Julianna Margulies confirmed to TV Guide Canada during an international conference call on Thursday morning that Noble appears in the upcoming 18th episode as someone from Alicia’s past.
“He comes on as a man that I have flashbacks [about], because he’s a client that I used to take care of all the time,” she said. “He’s a very interesting character who is sort of a brilliant techie guy that constantly sues people. He just elevated the part to such a different level, it was remarkable to work with him and just a pleasure to have on set.”
Noble, who recently wrapped a five-year run on the Fox series Fringe as the widely lauded and Emmy-shunned Walter Bishop, is also rumoured to be the new Big Bad in the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed Star Wars: Episode VII.
“On the page, I thought, ‘Is this going to make sense?’ and he filled it with such incredible talent,” Margulies continued. “I can’t even tell you. I looked at him and I went, ‘I didn’t even know that was the character. I’m so blown away.’”
Noble joins an impressive slew of Season 4 guest stars, which includes Audra McDonald (Private Practice), Jessalyn Gilsig (Glee), Stockard Channing (Grease), Matthew Perry (Friends), Amanda Peet (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies), Nathan Lane (The Lion King) and Michael J. Fox (Family Ties) to name a few.
“There isn’t a week that I am not gobsmacked by these talents that come in and that’s such a testament to the writing,” Margulies added. “It’s not for the money they’re doing it, it’s for the work, what the work stands for and who these writers are.”
The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and at 10 p.m. ET on Global.
