It may take a while to decide who the most annoying houseguest on Big Brother Canada is — my vote goes to Suzette — but the show has become an immediate hit for Shaw Cable.
According to a press release, Canada’s latest American reality show spinoff attracted 3.3 million to Global and Slice on Wednesday night, and placed second to Survivor in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
The stunt scheduling decision to broadcast Big Brother Canada‘s debut on Global paid off, attracting close to three million viewers to the conventional channel.
Over 300,000 tuned to BBC‘s home channel Slice, marking the highest ratings in that channel’s history.
Shaw boasts the reality program’s website reached a million page views in just over a day.
Thursday’s episode saw Tom and Emmett escape elimination and Toronto bartender Kat Yee become the first-ever houseguest voted out of Big Brother Canada.
Big Brother Canada airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET, Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET and Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Slice.
