We’re not sure whether to file this news story under ironic or just obvious: one of the stars of Discovery Channel’s Moonshiners has been arrested for public intoxication.
Steven Ray Tickle, known to viewers as just Tickle, was picked up by police at a convenience store parking lot in Danville, Va. last Thursday for reportedly swigging booze back in his car. Authorities arrived on scene after receiving a report that a man just sitting there. He was only arrested after he was unable to find someone to pick him up.
The 35-year-old was released the same day, according to the Associated Press. It’s unclear if the alcohol in question was moonshine or not, but on the show’s official page it does make note that Tickle is “a hard working still hand who loves moonshine.”
Moonshiners debuted in 2011, and follows those who make and distribute illegal brew. The second season finale aired on Jan. 30; Discovery has not yet announced if it will return for a third season.
