It’s time to get wet and wild, because one network is bringing you the search for America’s best hooker.
Before you do a double take and question anyone’s morality, let me clarify – the Animal Planet series is all about fishing.
In what may be one of the world’s most misleading television titles ever, Top Hooker will put 10 anglers through an intense competition of “mind-blowing” challenges to determine who is the best fisher. The top prize for such a title? A nice $30,000 grand prize. Nothing fishy about that!
A press release from the network says that some of the competitor’s challenges will include capturing fish using only their mouths, zipline fishing, and catching fish that are nearly invisible to the naked eye, all on “America’s coastlines, lakes and waterways.”
Along with the fishing there may even be a competition for which competitor has the best nickname. Among the likes are Patrick, the “Cocky Captain”, Larysa, the “Bowfishing Babe”, and Melanie, the “Sexy Spearfisher.” We can’t make this up.
The show is hosted by Reno Collier, the Blue Collar Comedy star and friend of Larry the Cable Guy.
Animal Planet is no stranger to the fisherman’s school of thought. The network has been a home for the likes of River Monsters, Off The Hook: Extreme Catches, and Hillbilly Handfishin’, all surrounding the premise of angling.
Whether fishing shows are your thing or not, the title is sure to have viewers eyes hooked.
Top Hooker premieres Sunday, June 2 at 10 p.m. ET on Animal Planet.
