And they’re going, going, … gone. According to a new report, Dave Hester isn’t the only Storage Wars personality that’s been downgraded from the A&E series.
According to RadarOnline, three more personalities have had their screen time cut back for the show’s current fourth season. Darrell “The Gambler” Sheets, along with auctioneers Dan and Laura Dotson, all had their episodes cut back significantly.
The publication quotes a source as saying that Sheets was “frozen” out of six episodes. His contract was reportedly honoured, but then he was kept out of the extra instalments they shot afterwards to save money.
“He was not happy, to say the least,” the source said. “It seems as if they are going after some of the higher paid cast members. Meanwhile, they are expanding the franchise.”
As for the Dotsons, they were reportedly told they weren’t needed for an episode, and then another.
“They’ve been battling to stay on the air, and they are worried about their futures. The show is a gold mine,” the source said. “[Storage Wars] has a few months before the deadline to offer contracts for its next season. Sheets and Dan and Laura don’t know what’s going to happen to them. They could be replaced with cheaper talent.”
