Looks like Jon Gosselin’s going to have to wait a while until he gets his next big break. As in, he’s going to have to continue waiting tables.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight recently, Gosselin, of former TLC hit Jon and Kate Plus 8, admitted that he’s currently living in a cabin in Beckersville, Pa., and  working as a waiter at a restaurant called the Black Dog.

In one of the many intimately-staged clips featured in the story, Jon can be seen greeting a table of guests at the Black Dog, saying “Hi, my name is Jon. Were you ready to order?” This is followed by clips of him carrying plates of onion rings, tending bar and hanging out with a toy (?) deer in his Internet and TV-less abode.

During a follow-up sit-down interview with ET, Gosselin said that he was “nervous” about how the media would react to his career change at first. But he got over that fast. “It’s fun,” he said of his new gig. “And I get to talk to people and they technically already know me. They’re like, ‘Are you the guy?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m the guy.’”

Gosselin assured ET that, despite what some outlets have said, he hasn’t hit “rock bottom” since leaving the reality TV game following his divorce from Kate.

“I don’t know why people said that,” Gosselin mused. “They said it because I’m waiting tables. Which is really disgusting. To think that because you wait tables, or because … you don’t have an 8, an 8 to 5 job, you’re making ends meet.”

He added, “I’ve hit rock bottom like 20 times. And then I just bounce back.”
