Despite nearly meeting the reaper earlier this year, Drop Dead Diva has been given another year to live.

Lifetime announced via press release Friday that it renewed the legal laffer for a 13-episode sixth season, set to debut sometime in 2014.

The female-friendly cabler pulled the plug on Diva back in January, following the conclusion of Season 4, but later reversed its decision after coming to a cost-cutting agreement with studio heads at Sony Pictures Television. Season 5 eventually went to air on June 23, with the season finale scheduled to air this coming Sunday, Nov. 3.

Diva stars Brooke Elliott as Jane Bingum, a brilliant, plus-size lawyer possessed by the soul of wannabe model Deb Dobkins (Brooke D’Orsay), who died in a sudden car accident. Together, they attempt to find the meaning of inner beauty. Margaret Cho, Jackson Hurst, Kate Levering, April Bowlby and Josh Stamberg also star.

The Nov. 3 finale sees a surprise visitor from Jane’s past surface and put “everything between her and Grayson (Hurst) on the line and potentially change the course of Jane’s life forever.”

Drop Dead Diva airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime Canada.
